National Grid colleagues raise over £2,500 for Queen Victoria Hospital Charity following Lee’s courageous cancer journey

A team of colleagues from National Grid have raised more than £2,500 for Queen Victoria Hospital Charity after being inspired by a colleague’s courageous cancer journey and the exceptional care he received.

Following two major surgeries, patient Lee was supported every step of the way by the specialist teams at Queen Victoria Hospital whose compassion, expertise and treatment made a lasting impact on both him and those around him.

Wanting to give something back, Lee’s manager Marcus took on a 100 mile gruelling bike challenge for the hospital’s charity. Supported by colleagues at National Grid where he works, as well as friends and family, the fundraising effort exceeded £2,500 helping to support other patients and families when they need it most.

Marcus said, “I’m very happy to give back to the hospital who provided the best care for Lee. The bike ride was hard work, but I’m proud of the funds we’ve raised and the awareness we’ve created for the hospital for our legend Lee.”
