East Grinstead opticians launch fundraiser in aid of QVH Charity to mark National Eye Health Week

We are excited to share that Specsavers East Grinstead have announced a fundraising partnership with us to mark this year’s National Eye Health Week. From 22-28 September 2025 the store will be fundraising with donations matched by the store.

Camilla Lane, QVH Charity Head of Fundraising, says: “We’re delighted that Specsavers East Grinstead is supporting our wonderful Queen Victoria Hospital through our dedicated QVH Charity. Donations help fund us to specialist equipment like the confocal microscope, which helps the hospital’s specialists detect cancer at microscopic detail of the cornea; purchasing specialist surgical equipment for our younger eye patients; as well as improving patient areas. We are so grateful to everyone for their support. Everyone taking part will be helping our teams to make a real difference to patients, many of whom have life changing eye conditions.”

Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a leading specialist centre for reconstruction and sleep. We also provide essential healthcare services for local people. Internationally recognised for pioneering innovative treatments and techniques, including for conditions of the eyes, it has a strong track record of excellence and successful patient outcomes.

Specsavers East Grinstead store director Alan Mclean says: “We are excited to support QVH Charity and the Queen Victoria Hospital. As part of National Eye Health Week we wanted to fundraise for a local charity as well as raising the awareness of the importance of eye health. We believe that by working together, we can enhance the health and well-being of our community. Eye health is often overlooked, yet it is vital for maintaining quality of life. We encourage everyone to participate in this fundraising effort and take proactive steps towards their eye health.”

National Eye Health Week serves as a reminder of the importance of regular eye examinations and the benefits of maintaining good eye health. With an increasing number of individuals experiencing vision problems, it is essential to prioritise eye care. This week-long campaign aims to educate the public about the significance of eye health, the risks of neglecting it, and the simple steps everyone can take to protect their vision.
