Patient stories
Patients receive great care at Queen Victoria Hospital and, as a way of saying ‘thank you’, many kindly share their stories. The stories below demonstrate how important charitable funds have been in their diagnosis, treatment and recovery. This is only possible thanks to kind supporters.

Olivia
Olivia was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer, aged 60. She struggled to accept her appearance following a mastectomy on her right breast and was referred by Queen Victoria Hospital (QVH) to their psycological services. Ruth MacQueen, the clinical psychologist who supported her, was funded thanks to a grant which QVH Charity secured from NHS Charities Together.
